Fall Events in Grey Bruce 2026: Festivals, Fairs & Things to Do

Fall is one of the best times of year to experience Grey Bruce.

As summer winds down, the roads and communities throughout Grey and Bruce Counties come alive with agricultural fairs, fall festivals, art tours, classic cars, giant pumpkins, scarecrows, local food and plenty of family-friendly activities.

Whether you live in Owen Sound, Meaford, Georgian Bluffs, Chatsworth, South Bruce Peninsula, Arran-Elderslie, Saugeen Shores or one of the many smaller communities throughout the region, there is no shortage of things to do this fall.

I've put together some of the best fall events happening across Grey Bruce in September, October and November 2026.

🍂 September 2026: Fall Fair Season Begins

September is when Grey Bruce really starts to feel like fall. The agricultural fair tradition is still going strong, while music, arts, automobiles and community festivals provide plenty of other reasons to get out and explore.

Owen Sound Fall Fair

September 10–12, 2026 | Owen Sound

The 174th Owen Sound Fall Fair returns to Victoria Park September 10–12.

This is one of the region's classic fall traditions, featuring agriculture, livestock, competitions, midway rides, entertainment and family activities.

For anyone who enjoys the agricultural side of Grey Bruce, the Owen Sound Fall Fair is a great way to celebrate the people, farms and communities that make this region special.

Owen Sound Fall Fair

The 2026 fair runs Thursday through Saturday at Victoria Park.

Beaver Valley Fall Fair

September 11–12, 2026

The Beaver Valley Fall Fair brings traditional country-fair fun to the region with agricultural exhibits, entertainment, food and community activities.

It's also a great excuse to take a scenic drive through Grey Highlands and the Beaver Valley, especially as the first fall colours begin to appear.

Dundalk Fall Fair

September 11–13, 2026 | Dundalk

The 169th Dundalk Fall Fair is another great example of the agricultural traditions that remain such an important part of Grey County.

The weekend includes livestock shows, exhibits, vendors, entertainment, food and a truck and tractor pull.

Open Barns, Open Doors

September 13, 2026 | South Grey

If you're interested in agriculture, this is an event worth checking out.

The Open Barns, Open Doors event offers visitors an opportunity to visit three different agricultural operations in South Grey, including Round Hill Farms, Chatsworth Honey and Happy Acres.

The free, family-friendly event provides a behind-the-scenes look at farming and local food production.

For someone like me who specializes in rural and farm real estate, events like this are a great reminder of just how diverse and productive our agricultural communities are.

Cobble Beach Concours d'Elegance & Motoring Festival

September 18–20, 2026 | Georgian Bluffs & Owen Sound

One of the most unique events on the Grey Bruce calendar, the Cobble Beach Concours d'Elegance & Motoring Festival brings some remarkable automobiles to the shores of Georgian Bay.

The weekend includes scenic driving events, Cars & Coffee, Oblivion Avenue and the signature Concours d'Elegance at Cobble Beach.

It has become a major attraction for automotive enthusiasts from across Canada and the United States—and Grey and Bruce County residents can take advantage of special community pricing.

Meaford International Film Festival

September 25–27, 2026 | Meaford

The Meaford International Film Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026.

Hosted at Meaford Hall, the festival brings international films and filmmakers together for a weekend of cinema, culture and community.

It's another great example of the cultural experiences available right here in Meaford.

Rocklyn Fall Fair

September 26, 2026

The Rocklyn Fall Fair is another opportunity to experience the small-town agricultural tradition that makes fall in Grey Bruce so special.

🎃 October 2026: Pumpkins, Scarecrows & Fall Colours

October might be the best month to explore Grey Bruce.

The leaves are changing, the harvest is underway and communities throughout the region are celebrating everything that makes autumn special.

Port Elgin Pumpkinfest

October 3–4, 2026 | Port Elgin

If you're looking for one fall event you absolutely shouldn't miss, put Port Elgin Pumpkinfest on your calendar.

Held October 3–4, Pumpkinfest is one of the biggest fall celebrations in Saugeen Shores, featuring giant vegetable weigh-offs, the OLG Cinderella's Carriage Car Show, vendors, family activities and entertainment.

The Pumpkinfest Village is open Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

And the fun actually starts Friday night.

The Pumpkinfest Pub-Kin Crawl returns Friday, October 2, 2026, providing a fun kickoff to the weekend.

If you're coming from Owen Sound or elsewhere in Grey Bruce, it's worth making a day of it in Port Elgin and Southampton.

Meaford Scarecrow Invasion & Family Festival

October 2–3, 2026 | Meaford

Every fall, Meaford gets invaded by scarecrows.

Businesses, residents and organizations throughout the community create imaginative scarecrows that appear throughout the downtown area, turning a visit to town into a giant outdoor art experience.

The annual parade and family festival are the highlight of the celebration.

It's a fun fall tradition for families and a great reason to visit Meaford during the fall colour season.

Autumn Leaves Studio Tour

October 2–4, 2026 | Grey & Bruce Counties

Art lovers can combine a scenic fall drive with a visit to local artists during the Autumn Leaves Studio Tour.

This free, self-guided tour features artists working in painting, photography, ceramics, glass, fibre, wood and other mediums.

It's one of my favourite types of fall activities because you get to experience both the incredible scenery of Grey Bruce and the creativity of local artists.

Thanksgiving Weekend & Fall Colours

October 9–12, 2026

Thanksgiving weekend is a perfect time to explore Grey Bruce.

Take a drive through Georgian Bluffs, Chatsworth or South Bruce Peninsula, stop at a local farm market, grab some fresh apples or pumpkins, and enjoy the fall colours.

The Blue Mountain Apple Harvest Festival also takes place Thanksgiving weekend, October 9–11, with live entertainment, family activities and seasonal food.

Wood Symposium 2026

October 16–18, 2026 | Owen Sound

Owen Sound will also host the Wood Symposium 2026, bringing woodworkers, woodturners, artists and enthusiasts together for presentations, demonstrations, exhibitions, vendors and workshops.

The event takes place at several Owen Sound locations, including Grey Roots Museum & Archives, Grey Gallery and the Harmony Centre.

🎨 Fall Events in Grey Bruce: More Than Just Festivals

One of the things I enjoy about living and working in Grey Bruce is that you don't have to attend a major festival to enjoy the fall.

Sometimes the best autumn experience is simply taking a drive through the countryside.

The roads around Owen Sound, Chatsworth, Georgian Bluffs, Meaford, Grey Highlands and Arran-Elderslie offer beautiful fall scenery, farms, forests and small communities to explore.

Stop for a coffee. Visit a local farm market. Walk a trail. Browse a local shop. Grab lunch in a small town.

You don't have to go far to feel like you've gotten away.

🍎 Support Local Farmers & Small Businesses This Fall

Fall is also an important season for local farmers and producers.

Look for local apples, pumpkins, honey, maple products, baked goods, meats, preserves and other locally produced food throughout Grey and Bruce Counties.

Supporting local businesses is one of the easiest ways to help keep our communities strong.
